Every child carries small ideas within them. What they need is an opportunity to turn those ideas into meaningful real-life experiences.
Using the money they had raised from collecting recyclables, our Dolphin 1 students began their very own “Startup” project. Together, the children shared ideas, made plans, chose their products, selected ingredients, and prepared step by step to open their juice stall.
When the stall officially opened, what mattered most was not how many cups of juice were sold, but the excitement in the children’s eyes as they introduced their products, the confidence they showed when speaking with customers, the joy of completing a task together, and the proud smiles on their faces as they saw the results of their own efforts.
Through this project-based learning experience, the children learned to listen and cooperate, make plans and choices, and understand that every achievement comes from effort, responsibility, and teamwork.
At the kindergarten level, “startup” is not about teaching children to earn money, but about planting the first seeds of confidence, creativity, problem-solving, and the courage to try. These qualities will become a valuable foundation as they grow and move forward on bigger journeys in the future.
Each experience today is a gentle step in nurturing the children into more confident, capable, and resilient individuals tomorrow.
