The science learning journey of Grade 4 students at Lac Hong Bilingual School came to life through the engaging project “The Magical World of Mushrooms.” From the very first lessons on classifying mushrooms and identifying the characteristics of edible and poisonous varieties, to exploring the important roles mushrooms play in nature and human life, students gradually discovered a scientific world that is familiar yet full of surprises.
The mini science fair – A highlight of the project
The highlight of the project was a vibrant mini science fair, filled with color and excitement through a series of hands-on activities. Students performed short drama skits about mushrooms, presented their research products, visited poster displays and mushroom booths, observed real mushroom samples, and participated in interactive games. Each activity not only sparked curiosity but also nurtured a love of learning and encouraged creativity among the students.
As the project comes to a close, what remains is more than valuable scientific knowledge about mushrooms. Students also gained lasting skills and values, including active learning habits, teamwork, confident presentation skills, and a growing awareness of environmental protection. While this project has reached its conclusion, the journey of discovery for Grade 4 students is sure to continue, with many exciting explorations still ahead.
