Lac Hong Bilingual School, News
To strengthen teachers’ professional expertise and enhance their ability to deliver competency-based instruction, Lac Hong Bilingual School organized a professional development workshop entitled “From Textbooks to Real-Life Learning: Designing and Delivering Primary Mathematics Lessons” for its primary school teachers.
The workshop was led by Nguyen Ngoc Dan, M.A., from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. It focused on developing teachers’ ability to ask purposeful questions that guide students and foster mathematical thinking. It also equipped teachers with practical strategies for designing real-life learning situations aligned with sustainable development goals.
Through professional discussions, case studies, and hands-on lesson-planning activities, teachers explored a range of approaches to transforming textbook content into engaging, relatable, and meaningful learning experiences.
As a result, Mathematics lessons can go beyond helping students master key concepts. They can also encourage learners to think independently, solve problems, and apply mathematical knowledge to everyday life.
