Emotions are a natural and essential part of every child’s growth journey. Feelings such as happiness, sadness, excitement, worry, confidence, or frustration are all familiar experiences students encounter each day. In the recent Grade 4 psychology workshop, “Befriending Emotions – Recognize and Choose Wisely,” students explored both positive and negative emotions commonly experienced in school settings. They learned how to identify and name their emotions clearly and appropriately.
Through engaging, relatable, and easy-to-understand activities, the workshop helped students recognize the benefits of managing their emotions and guided them in adjusting their responses in familiar situations. This enables them to interact more positively with themselves and those around them.
More than just a lesson on emotions, this workshop serves as an important foundation for building confidence, adaptability, and healthy emotional development from the early years of primary school.
